I am available for tuition with your horse.

I have many years experience in training and starting young horses correctly. I stress this as being incredibly important to a horses whole ridden career. Young horses must be started correctly according to their own nature and temperament. Without a good education from the start, a horse may develop problems later on.

I am well experienced in tacking “problem” behaviour. Horses who buck, rear bolt, nap, run backwards stamp their feet and generally refuse to comply always have a reason behind their behaviour. (It's usually us!) I can help you find this reason and help you realise a new approach to dealing with the situation. I can also show you methods of control whilst on the ground or in the saddle which will help you nip a naughty moment in the bud! I have a proven record in training “problem” horses, and I thoroughly enjoy this side of my work. Results can be witnessed within one session.

Riders who lack confidence in the saddle will benefit greatly from my manner of teaching. Through my own past experience I can understand the problem. I can help you unpick your fears and open your eyes to achievements that are fully obtainable. I always spend time explaining the horses movement and locomotion, which is connected to your own control as a rider. I can give you much more control in the saddle, just by teaching you how the horse works! Once the nervous rider is on the path I design for them, they will only grow in confidence. It all becomes quite exciting!

Previous clients have gone on to ride their first dressage test, go hunting, jump in competitions and even just hack out alone confidently on a young horse.

I am of course also available to assist you improve your general riding and your horses way of going. I base my lessons on what works, not what the text book says. I want the rider to understand the horse and I use simple analogies to explain the balance and bio mechanics of the horse and rider, and how the two are closely connected in achieving harmony with your horse. I like to see a happy horse and rider, and every session has a purpose and a result.
