Please don't ask me to look at adverts for you unless you are employing me for a horse search or a Phone call service. People would have me scrutinising adverts all day!
The viewing service
You may have already viewed a horse, or you may prefer me to view the horse first. Or you might like to attend the viewing with me. It is entirely up to you, and makes no difference to the cost.
I arrange with the seller a suitable time to view the horse. Or you may make arrangements after contacting me for availability.
At the viewing I am working for you, on your behalf only. I have no interest whatsoever in the sale of the horse I am viewing. I will provide you with factual information and a professional opinion based on what I see on the day.
I will be very specific to the seller in describing exactly what I want to see when I attend the viewing. If the seller retracts permission on the day or withdraws from showing the horse to me in accordance with my request then I shall cease the viewing and either speak to you directly on the phone, or leave the premises as to prevent further cost to yourself.
I will be looking for many things at a viewing. I am not always just looking at the horse in question. My experience will lead me to pick up on issues that others may miss. I can explain to you before a viewing exactly what i will be looking for. The viewing process is very thorough and you will receive a detailed report on the animal. Sometimes it will become evident very early on that a horse is unsuitable for the job you require. In such a case I will cease the viewing to save your costs. If we get so far as to try the horse under saddle, then I shall ride the horse if required. If you have paid for a full ridden viewing you may receive a partial refund if I do not ride.
I will take the seller through a detailed questionnaire during the viewing which will give them ample opportunity to describe the horse again truthfully and accurately. The seller will be asked to sign to confirm his / her answers are truthful and note that his answers will be used by yourself to make a decision on buying the horse. The seller will also note that he / she may be held liable if it is later discovered that they are withholding information on the animal which may be important in your decision on the purchase of the horse.
The viewing may take up to two hours.
Hopefully by the time you decide to go ahead with a viewing we can be fairly sure that the horse may well fit the description and be suitable for your purpose.
I will also give you my opinion on whether the horse will suit your requirements.
It is then up to you to make a decision.
